Group Sourcing Director and Member of the Extended Group Board of the Bosal Group. Bosal is a leading first-tier and aftermarket supplier of emission control systems, automotive carrier and protection systems, energy conversion systems, jacks, vehicle cabins and precision tubing. Established in 1923 in Alkmaar, the Bosal Group is Dutch registered, headquartered in Lummen, Belgium. The annual turnover in 2013 was in excess of € 800 million. The Bosal Group employs over 5,500 people in 34 manufacturing plants and 18 distribution centres. Bosal´s customer base includes all major car manufacturers worldwide as well as a variety of leading industrial conglomerates.

Before joining Bosal Robert Snijder was CEO and co-founder of DonQi Quandary Innovations, a producer of small windmills. This windmill was co-developed with the Dutch Aerospace Lab and the Technical University Delft. Production was done with the help of social welfare labor in Rotterdam and over 250 windmills were sold to 10 countries worldwide.

Earlier Robert was Managing Director of Carrier Holland Heating, an United Technologies Company, that designs, manufactures and sells air handling units. The company employed 300 people with a turn-over of € 39 mio and full P&L responsibility.

Robert started his carreer at Arvin Industries, later ArvinMeritor, in the automotive industry. Robert joined Arvin Industries as Management Trainee Corporate Purchasing in 1995 and until 2005 he occupied several positions in sourcing, continuous improvement and operations management in Netherlands, USA and France and his last position was Director of Procurement at ArvinMeritor’s European Procurement Headquarter in Amsterdam. He was part of the European management teams of the Light Vehicle Aftermarket and the Light Vehicle Systems division.

Robert graduated in 1995 as Bachelor of Business Administration at The Netherlands School of Business, Nijenrode, and Master of Business Administration at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Besides several other assignments he completed a research fellowship in the Dutch Automotive Supply Industry for the Foundation for Industrial Economic Research and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Robert also completed the Indiana University Executive Education and the UTC Emerging Leadership Program at Darden University and speaks four languages fluently.

Robert is married and has four children, three girls of fourteen, thirteen and five years and a boy of ten years old. He is an avid rower, runner and skier, loves reading and practices fly-fishing from time-to-time.
